And This The Female Form

And this the female form¹,

divinely draped radiance betrothed by nature,

naturally tempting and devout;

I am drawn into its skirts as if I were no more than familiar

flesh, swathed only by she and sublime ecstasy,

Devoured like time, like distance, like the sea, like all of man’s theology, and

knowledge, and hope that gives way to desperate dreams, all now

decimated beneath me;

I Once Imagined You

I once imagined you
beautiful and bold;
A god-like figure
draped in gold,
decadent and deep.
But now, awaken from that sleep,
I only once imagined you;
And your everything
you’ve always been,
A disappointment
in the end.

The Abandoned Remains

Words seem
           inadequate,
the abandoned remains
of logic and sense;
Translation of soul
           lost
in the deficiency of dialect.

But of words
I have great need,
saviors to the spirit
which sits restlessly
           within me.

Suffocated silence
leaves a bitter taste,
and my soul would be free,
even if lost in
           insufficiency.
